D&D Improvements | Death Rework

Distraction, diversion, death a classic Ninja Team combo in today's RuneScape update!

First up, there are a ton of improvements to Distractions and Diversions, aimed at making them more accessible and more rewarding.

There are also the long-awaited additions to the Death System, built and tested with your help in the beta.

We've also got prismatic dyes in Solomon's Store, and details of the week's live streams.

Read on to find out more!

D&D Improvements

Distractions and Diversions are short, fun activities designed to give you a break from skill training, while offering some unique rewards.

The Ninjas have made a ton of tweaks and fixes to D&Ds this week, so take a good look over the list below:

Bork
  • Added to the D&D tracker.
  • Drop improvements previously unlocked with Varrock armour 4 - have been moved to Varrock armour 3.
  • Varrock armour 4 now offers a daily teleport to Bork.
Champion's Challenge
  • XP and stats have been buffed.
  • The fights can be repeated weekly for an XP reward.
  • Losing a fight no longer locks the player out from the fight - so there's no need to get a new scroll.
  • Added to the D&D tracker.
  • Can be now be completed in EoC or Legacy.
  • There's a new title - 'Champion of Champions' - for defeating all 15 champions.
  • The deposit box is now a bank chest.
  • Scrolls can now be fed to a baby troll.
  • The lesser demon fight has been tweaked.
Court Cases
  • Now always rewards a mystery box.
  • Mystery box rewards have been made more worthwhile.
  • The XP reward has been changed to a combat XP lamp - Prayer and Summoning included.
  • A new title is available for those who have completed all cases: 'The Detective'.
  • It's no longer necessary to complete the tutorial to start receiving cases.
Evil Tree
  • XP rates have been increased for the top three trees.
  • Turns into a bonfire post-event, on which kindling can be burned, granting Firemaking XP determined by your level.
  • Roots go down faster when all four are active.
  • Roots respawn more slowly when three are active.
  • Rewards now scale based on Farming/Woodcutting level.
  • Spirit trees and the D&D Tracker are more specific on where the tree will appear.
  • The leprechaun's log-banking magic now works instantly, instead of just when the inventory is full.
  • It's now quicker to check the approximate health of the tree by examining it.
Familiarisation
  • Now occurs exactly every 2 hours.
  • The triple charm reward is now given by a consumable ticket, allowing you to choose when to use it. You can only carry one of these at a time.
Fish Flingers
  • The Barbarian Assault fisherman is now found near Otto's lake, close to the leaping fish spots.
  • New rewards have been added. Each of these costs 100 tokens:
    • Tacklebox fish teleport limit reset.
    • Fish Flingers entry ticket. Note that the cap of 15 is unchanged.
    • Extra fish caught with each success for 20 minutes. Note that this stacks with benefits from Agility and the shark outfits.
Goblin Flash Mobs
  • The D&D is now free to play.
  • Non-degradeable free-to-play level 55 combat gear has been added as rewards:
    • Gud raider axe.
    • Gud raider chainbody (power-type).
    • Gud raider shield.
  • Resource rewards have been improved.
Phoenix Lair
  • A new Level 84 familiar has been added:
    • Has a chance to burn 2 logs at once when using bonfires.
    • Requires 2 phoenix quills.
    • Uses the same scroll as the original phoenix.
    • Invisible +12 Firemaking boost.
    • Same quest restriction as the original Phoenix familiar.
  • Reborn mages no longer block movement.
  • Surge, Barge and Escape are now allowed.
  • 10 quills can be paid to skip to the fight.
  • The branch harvesting animation no longer causes a delay.
  • Using unfletched twigs fletches them.
  • The cave exit's 'Look at' option has been replaced with a 'confirm' box.
Skeletal Horror
  • The XP reward now scales according to Slayer and Prayer levels.
  • Reset now occurs at the standard Wednesday weekly reset time.
  • The skeleton champion scroll and triskelion fragment have been added to drop table.
  • Always drops an elite clue scroll (as long as you don't already have one).
  • Added to the D&D tracker.
There's also a new title the Distracted for anyone who tries out all D&Ds featured in the D&D Tracker. You can find out which you still need to try via the preview in the Title interface.

Death Rework

With your help in the beta, we've made some additions to RuneScape's Death System. There's now more freedom in how you reclaim your items and more leeway when things go wrong, while retaining the risk in your most dangerous adventures.

When you die as long as you're not in the Wilderness or in a safe area the following applies:
  • Items are now stored by Death when you die. He will look after them for 24 hours of in-game time. This persists across log-outs, so disconnects are no longer a danger. You will respawn in his office.
  • You will be able to claim back your items in exchange for coins, by sacrificing items eligible to be lost for their coin value, or a combination of the two, using a new interface.
  • Items that would have degraded on death, won't do so if reclaimed from Death's storage, as the penalty is now reflected in the buy-back mechanic.
  • If you choose not to reclaim items from Death immediately, your gravestone will spawn when you leave his office. Gravestone timers have been reduced, but this will allow you to reclaim items using the degrade-on-death mechanics you're used to.
  • If you choose to try and get back to your gravestone and don't make it, Death will still be holding your items.
  • You can return to Death within 24 hour in-game hours if you wish to claim some of your items back later. Be aware, though, that dying again will wipe the stored items only the items and equipment you were carrying during your most recent death are stored.
  • Note that existing mechanics for items kept on death still apply. This includes extra items kept with prayers, divination items, and similar effects, including reductions for being skulled or being in a dangerous area.
  • Items you were holding when you died can no longer be picked up by other players.
In the Wilderness, or in safe areas, none of the above applies. Death mechanics in PvP situations are the same as they've always been, with the exception that a stack of items is now treated as a single item for purposes of item protection.

Other, smaller tweaks are:
  • You can now choose any gravestone appearance that you have unlocked. You will always get the benefits of the best one available to you, regardless of the chosen look.
  • Graves are now allowed in the Corporeal Beast's lair.
Solomon's Store Prismatic Dyes

Looking for the perfect shade of purple or an exceptionally eye-catching ochre? Prismatic dyes are for you only on Solomon's Store!

You'll now find eight new colour slots on the recolour interface for compatible cosmetic override outfits. Each dye you purchase lets you set a colour for one of these slots, chosen from a colour wheel.

Save up to eight of your favourite colours, and use them to your heart's content. Should you ever need to replace one, simply purchase another dye from the store.

Need more RuneCoins? You can get them by redeeming Bonds, or you can purchase more on the website.

Samenvatting

Er zijn een hoop (kleine) veranderingen gedaan aan Distractions and Diversions en het systeem omtrent doodgaan is veranderd. Ook kun je in Solomon's Store prismatic dyes kopen.

D&D's

Er zijn veranderingen gedaan aan enkele Distractions and Diversions: Bork, de Champion's Challenge, Court Cases, de Evil Tree, Familiarisation, Fish Flingers, de Goblin raids, de Phoenix Lair en de Skeletal Horror.

Enkele noemenswaardige veranderingen zijn:
  • Je kunt met het Varrock armour 4 voortaan dagelijks naar Bork teleporteren.
  • Je kunt de gevechten in de Champion's Challenge wekelijks opnieuw doen.
  • Court Cases hebben betere beloningen.
  • Familiarisation geeft in plaats van direct een verdriedubbeling van charm drops een ticket waarmee je zelf kunt bepalen wanneer dit effect ingaat.
  • Goblin raids zijn nu ook voor gratis spelers en hebben betere beloningen.
  • De Skeletal Horror dropt nu altijd een elite clue scroll, mits je er nog geen hebt.

Doodgaan

Je hebt voortaan meer vrijheid in het terugvorderen van je spullen als je doodgaat. Doodgaan in de Wilderness of in een veilig gebied is onveranderd, maar daarbuiten zijn de volgende aanpassingen gemaakt:
  • Verloren spullen worden door Death bewaard. Deze houdt ze voor 24 uur in-game tijd. Dit is dus alleen tijd dat je bent ingelogd, als je uitlogt of je verbinding met het spel verliest telt dit dus niet mee. Als je doodgaat kom je ook in zijn kantoor terecht.
  • Je kunt je spullen terugkopen voor geld. Je kunt ook spullen opofferen om de rest goedkoper terug te krijgen.
  • Voorwerpen die normaal gesproken kapotgaan als je doodgaat zullen dit niet langer doen als je ze terugkoopt bij Death. Je betaalt immers al geld om ze terug te krijgen.
  • Als je niet direct je spullen terugkoopt verschijnt je grafsteen zodra je het kantoor van Death verlaat. De tijd dat deze blijft staan is verlaagd, maar op deze manier kun je je spullen ook op de oude manier terugkrijgen. Als je dit niet lukt heeft Death nog steeds je spullen.
  • Als je opnieuw doodgaat terwijl Death nog spullen van je heeft zal hij deze weggooien, net als bij het oude systeem waarbij een eerdere grafsteen verdwijnt als je nog eens sterft.
  • Het huidige systeem rondom de hoeveelheid voorwerpen die je houdt als je doodgaat blijft onveranderd. Prayers, voorwerpen van Divination en andere effecten gelden dus nog steeds.
  • Voorwerpen die je bij je had toen je doodging kunnen niet langer worden opgeraapt door andere spelers.
In PvP is de enige verandering dat een stapel voorwerpen, zoals een stapel runes, als één enkel voorwerp wordt beschouwd voor het aantal voorwerpen dat je houdt als je doodgaat.

Hiernaast kun je nu voor je grafsteen het uiterlijk kiezen van elke grafsteen die je hebt vrijgespeeld of gekocht. Je krijgt echter altijd de voordelen van de beste die je kunt gebruiken. Ook kun je voortaan een grafsteen krijgen bij het Corporeal Beast.

Solomon's Store

Er zijn acht nieuwe slots bij de recolour interface die je kunt gebruiken om bepaalde overrides anders te kleuren. In Solomon's General Store kun je nu prismatic dyes kopen, waarmee je een nieuwe kleur kunt kiezen voor een van deze acht slots. Per kleur moet je een dye kopen.

Streams

Op Twitch zijn er op 26 mei weer een paar streams. Om 17:00 bespreekt het Ninja team hun komende projecten, om 21:00 vertellen Mods Balance en JD over Tuska. Ook kun je de hoogtepunten van het openen van 10.000 elite clue scrolls bekijken als je de stream van vorige week hebt gemist.

Graphical:

The inventory icon for dragon trinkets has been repositioned, as per player feedback.

A small graphical issue with Stanley Limelight's breeches has been fixed.

An issue with Stanley Limelight's minigame amulet deforming has been fixed.

A small issue with a check box that was not aligned correctly on the seedicide settings interface has been fixed.


Skills, D&Ds & Minigames:

The Prawnbroker Featherless Fishing perk will now only allow one type of feather to be overridden at a time, to prevent unwanted extra clicks when fly-fishing. This can be toggled at the Prawnbroker.

The Stealing Creation reward shop now shows the correct prices.

The Hobgoblin Champion can now be attacked with ranged.

Player kills achieved with ranged or magic combat will now correctly count towards the game results in Castle Wars.


Quests, Challenges and Achievements:

Completing a Treasure Trail at the Zamorak god emissary will no longer continue into his regular chat, which previously interrupted the Rewards interface.


Other:

The Explorer's aura will now reactivate correctly when logging out and in near a bank with the aura activated. As such, the portal will now spawn in the immediate vicinity of the player.

The Explorer's aura will now recharge at midnight UTC, like other daily-use auras.

Players with their Private Chat switched off will now broadcast their rare drops to players in their immediate vicinity, to prevent bossing groups from being scammed.

Metamorphosis and Berserk will now disable themselves when entering combat against another player in the Wilderness.

The Cleave ability will now work if the player needs to turn to face their target.

Players will no longer receive a Road Trip lamp upon completing a quest in New Varrock. It will now be held by the Challenge Mistresses.

An issue where boosting magic accuracy to extreme values was displaying incorrectly in the stat adjustments panel of the Prayer interface has been resolved.

Detaching a hooded skillcape without a free inventory space will now give the correct message.

Unnecessary force-walk tiles north of Cabbage Facepunch Bonanza have been removed.

Altered the spawning mechanics of Chaos Dwarves in the Taverley dungeon to prevent too many dwarves spawning.

It is no longer possible to repeatedly send capoeira emote invites to other players.

Brawling gloves dropped by elves in Prifddinas will now be fully charged.

Players can no longer deposit or withdraw items from legendary pets that have the Beast of Burden ability activated while in PvP areas.

Seedicide will now break down tree seeds correctly.

Seedicide will now break down seeds that the player does not have the required Farming level for, without awarding the usual XP for doing so.


Ninja fixes:

Player-owned house servants will no longer get stuck when following players.

Off-hand blurite swords may now be stored in Keepsake boxes.

Players may now upgrade the machete on their tool belt with gem-bladed machetes.

The Seed dibber icon on the tool belt has been updated to match the recently updated inventory model.

The action bar will no longer be minimised during Ports random events.

Pillars around Morvran have been altered and some blocking removed, allowing players to speak to him without having to run around the outer edge.

Implings can now be caught in Puro Puro with a sheathed butterfly net.

Players can now check their completionist cape and trimmed completionist cape requirements under the 'Heroes' tab, along with a toggle to hide completed requirements.

An off-hand Armadyl crossbow has been added to Commander Zilyana's drop table.

Armadyl crossbows are now level 75 to be consistent with other God Wars weapons.

Stepping stones have been added south of Taverley's bank as a shortcut to the Taverley dungeon.

An off-hand Armadyl crossbow has been added to Commander Zilyana's drop table.

Armadyl crossbows are now level 75 to be consistent with other God Wars weapons.

Prima weekje! Death rework ziet er goed uit, zeker een goede oplossing voor DCs. Begrijp ik het nou goed dat het om 24 uur ingelogd zijn gaat, of bedoelen ze 24 uur op de in-game klok?

Asylum was ook al 500k reclaim kost als je hem kwijt was.

Als je die logica volgt dan moet je ook 2,5m betalen voor max cape en 5m voor comp cape, maar comp cape reclaim cost is 70k.

Dus 500k voor die Asylum surgeon's ring of Dragon Rider amulet moet een fout zijn.

je beste grave is 3 minuten.
5 minuten max met respite
met bless is je max 5 minuten
ik was vandaag nex. het was daar nog te doen om gigantisch snel terug te lopen.
maar gwd. je haalt in 5 min geen kc en loopt naar je grave.
bij death ging ik kijken voor de prijs.
