RuneScape is coming to mobile in 2018. That's right ?
RuneScape. The game you know and love,
anywhere.
This is a mobile client for RuneScape ? not a separate version of the game. The
interfaces will be optimised for mobile, and there'll be
persistent cross-platform play with the desktop version.
That means you'll log in with your existing account, continuing the adventures of the character you've spent so much time levelling. And of course, you can hop back onto the desktop client whenever you want.
Awesome! When can I play?
Old School will hit mobile devices this winter, with RuneScape hot on its heels in 2018.

Is waarschijnlijk wat makkelijker te maken, maar miss dat ik in tussentijd ook weer ff wat osrs ga doen dan

Dit vind ik dus echt een hele goede zet van Jagex, waardoor denk ik het aantal players wel weer omhoog kan gaan raken.

Die andere apps waren nog best vermakelijk, maar niet verslavend genoeg om te blijven spelen.

Toen ze met de HTML5 versie kwamen (die ook failden door de browser limits) heeft Mod Pips gezegd dat een tablet versie hun volgende grote project was. Dit was in 2013.
"Our next big project after RuneScape 3 is to work on a tablet version which is customised for touch control and smaller screens" -Mod Pips

Ook een maand later heeft hun CEO het toen in een interview gezegd.

Hier zijn ze later een beetje op terug gekomen in hun BTS vids. Maar stiekem hebben ze er dus wel aan gewerkt.

Dat wist ik niet, bedankt voor de uitleg!
Maar dat zie ik niet als floppen, het is nooit op de markt geweest, dus het product kan niet geflopt zijn zoals bijvoorbeeld cola life dat was om maar iets te zeggen.
Het feit dat ze het nu aankondigen met publieke testing in het vooruitzicht wijst er toch op dat het deze keer op de markt gaat komen. Of het flopt zullen we pas over een half jaar zien.
