June Game Jam - This Week In RuneScape

Originele tekst

Game Jam was the name of the game last week, Jmods have been cooking up a bunch of different projects and we want to share some sneak peeks at them with you all!

Game Jam
Cooking up a whole lotta Jam

It's back! Game Jam is a reoccurring event where the J-Mods take one whole week to explore personal projects, community suggestions, and other exciting ideas. We've seen loads of awesome projects on the go this week, so here's a preview of just a few of them...

Mod Blkwitch: Graphical Updates

Mod Blkwitch is levelling up their Archaeology by digging into the depths of RuneScape's environments and unearthing some ancient reworks!

How ancient, you ask? Well, back in 2012 some dungeon reworks were made for a few areas that sorely needed it - Varrock Sewers, the Edgeville Dungeon, and the Pollnivneach Slayer Dungeon.

Of course, these reworks are now a bit outdated compared to our current graphics, but they're a step in the right direction, and they add some much-needed colour and life to these old areas. As if that wasn't enough, she's also started the next part of the Overworld refresh, with an eye towards a Kandarin and Ardougne update!

Mod Shogun: QoLpalooza

Mod Shogun has been on a roll, working on a wide variety of QoL updates such as :
  • Abyssal beasts can no longer shove you around when fighting them.
  • Ring of Kinship teleport is now faster. 4 ticks down from 10
  • Button, rusted swords and broken armours from dig site and HAM members are now noteable.
  • You can now fast travel through the dense forests in elf lands.
  • Puzzle and knot skips now have a chance to drop from elite caskets in reduced amounts compared to hard clue rewards.
  • Arch Glacors minions now spawn slightly further back.
    • Arch Glacors minions now spawn after and the ice wall moves in from left right left right to telegraph it better.
    • Arch Glacors minions core they leave behind now deals damage based on their life points up to 30k.
  • Sceptre of the Gods now has bad luck protection (you can get it down to 1 in 20 compared to the base 1 in 650)
  • Elite and Master scan clues now change colour depending on how close you are Light blue -> Orange -> Red
  • Leng weapons special attack now deals damage (110-160% ability damage x2) instead of offering a combat buff.
  • Leng weapons set effect now also increases your max hit cap by 30%
  • Abyssal Parasites are now always applied from the Abyssal armour spikes
  • Abyssal parasites now only spread to other enemies if the scourge is equipped.
  • Abyssal parasites now stack up to 100, deal less damage per stack but lasts for 19.2 seconds compared to the previous 9
  • Abyssal Scourge now have a 9 second charge period
Please Note: While this changes may seem ready to introduce into the game there is still some quality assurance that needs to be done before they can be brought in live.

Mod Stu: Quest Requirement Clear Ups

With assistance from the lore community Mod Stu has been identifying where quests have some redundant requirements and getting rid of them! The aim is to look at simplifying the complex web of quest requirements where possible so it's less daunting. Along the way, he has also done a little QoL to some quests while they're under the knife, such as graphically updating Azzanadra in Desert Treasure, or moving the Archaeology collection prompt on the Goblin Village generals into their dialogue tree to clean things up!

Mod Dorn - More QoL

And that's just the tip of the iceberg!, various other projects are also underway.

Please note that everything shown is subject to internal reviews, scheduling and testing processes. While these projects may appear complete in places, all Game Jam projects take a significant amount of additional work to implement - not all Game Jam projects shown may make it into the game and we can't offer a timeline or guarantees of Game Jam content releases.
